Aunque tardase un siglo en construirse, pues fue fundada en 1.180, es una bellísima construcción del mudéjar toledano .
Tiene cinco naves separadas por 28 arquerías de herradura que soportan pilares de ladrillo cubiertos de cemento y pintados con cal. El artesonado es de alerce, los altares platerescos, las puertas mudéjares y el retablo de la escuela de Berruguete
Fue san Vicente Ferrer quien movilizó a los cristianos de la ciudad para asaltar y tomar esta sinagoga en plena Judería.
El Cardenal Silicio lo dedicaría a "Refugio de mujeres descarriadas y arrepentidas".

Even though it took a century to be built, it was founded in 1,180; and it is a beautiful construction of Toledan mudejar style.
It has five wings separated by 28 horse shoe arches that support brick columns covered with cement and painted with limestone. The artistry was done of European larx, the altars are plateresc, the gates are mudejar, and the boards are of Berruguete's school.
It was Saint Vincent Ferrer who mobilized the Christians to rise up and over take this synagogue in the midst of the Jewish quarter.
The Cardinal Silicio declared it to be "a refuge to misled and repentant women".
