La gran consideración que La antigua Roma tenía hacia esta estratégica ciudad a la que llamaron Toletum hizo que tras su conquista por el general romano Marco Publio Nobilior en el año 192 a.C.

Este circo, podía albergar a 13.000 espectadores. Durante el dominio del imperio romano, Toledo llegó a acuñar su propia moneda.


Roman Circus

Built out of the deep consideration that the Great Rome had for the strategic position of this city, which they called Toletum, made that after its conquest by the Roman General Marco Publio Nobilior in the year 192 BC. This circus could house 13,000 spectators; and the city became so important that they arrive to mint their own coins.
